Kirsten Isakson Waters, RN, BSN, MAcOM, L.Ac

Kirsten is a Registered Nurse, Licensed Acupuncturist, and Board-Certified Herbalist, offering integrative, evidence-based care for both physical and emotional well-being. She brings together the art and science of medicine, blending East Asian medicine, manual therapies including Tuina, Shiatsu, Thai Massage, and CranioSacral Therapy, and Western biomedicine to support healing at the root.

With over a decade of experience in integrative health, Kirsten has worked across community, clinical, and inpatient settings, including adult, pediatric, and psychiatric care. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, expanding her ability to support clients within the allopathic care model while maintaining a deeply holistic, trauma-informed approach.

Kirsten specializes in integrative care for neuropsychiatric and mind-body conditions. She supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, and the impacts of stress, as well as those navigating neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury, stroke recovery, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, neurogenic pain, and other neurodegenerative or autoimmune conditions. Her practice also addresses pain, hormonal imbalance, chronic illness, and nervous system dysregulation.

Her approach is collaborative and individualized. Whether you are seeking relief from symptoms, support through a complex health journey, or a deeper sense of balance and vitality, she meets you where you are. She is particularly interested in the neurobiological roots of mental health and in integrating neuroscience, lifestyle medicine, and traditional healing systems to improve health and well-being.

Kirsten earned her Master’s in Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oregon Health and Science University. Her earlier studies in Biology and Ethnobotany at Lewis and Clark College and Duke University inform her deep respect for the relationship between humans and the natural world, and the roots of vitality in nature.

A lifelong mountaineer, former Outward Bound instructor, and mental health advocate, Kirsten believes that healing extends beyond the clinic. In her spare time, you can find her tending to her garden, playing dress-up with her three-year-old daughter, laughing at comedy, or being active outdoors. She views wellness as grounded in connection with self, community, and nature, and looks forward to partnering with you to cultivate resilience, clarity, and lasting health.
