Cate Zechner, LMT

California born, Nevada raised, and now a local Portlander, Cate has been practicing massage and manual therapy since 2019. Her path into therapeutic work began unexpectedly at age 18 while studying theology in Germany, where she first developed a deep appreciation for holistic healing and the mind-body connection.

Cate brings a compassionate, grounded presence to her work, specializing in supporting those who often put their own needs last — caregivers, busy professionals, parents, and people navigating the physical and emotional toll of chronic stressors. Her sessions offer folks a chance to reconnect with their bodies, gain clarity around their patterns of movement and tension, and begin the process of meaningful, sustainable healing. Drawing on advanced techniques and training including Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Technique, joint mobilization, facilitated stretching, and RockTape Kinesiology taping, Cate is a confident partner in post-surgical and non-surgical injury rehabilitation. Whether you're an athlete recovering from injury, a retiree looking to move more independently, an expecting parent, or simply someone seeking to feel more at home in your body, Cate is committed to meeting you where you are and especially passionate about helping people build resilience, reduce pain, and develop a deeper sense of agency in their bodies. Working with Cate will move you toward greater connection, ease, and empowered action to care for yourself — on and off the massage table.

Cate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Public Health from the University of Nevada, Reno, and an Associate’s degree in Nutrition from TMCC. In addition to her massage therapy credentials, Cate is a certified 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher and Matwork Pilates.

When not at the clinic, Cate's love of movement and mindfulness extends into her daily life through hiking, dancing, traveling, practicing acroyoga, and as a new percussionist for the Rose City Pride band!
